RUBEN TORRES

Ruben Torres is the founder of the Love Thy Neighbor Movement, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving underserved communities through compassion, creativity, and practical acts of kindness.

Born in Tijuana, Mexico, and raised in South San Diego, Ruben understands firsthand what it's like to grow up with very little. Those experiences became the foundation for a movement built on one simple belief: love your neighbor through action.

Since founding Love Thy Neighbor in 2010, Ruben has mobilized thousands of volunteers and partnered with churches, schools, businesses, artists, athletes, musicians, and law enforcement to provide toys, food, school supplies, clothing, mentorship, and hope to families throughout San Diego, Tijuana, and beyond. The movement has also expanded its reach to juvenile halls, prisons, recovery programs, and even international communities.

Known by many as a natural connector, Ruben has spent decades building bridges between neighborhoods and law enforcement, mentoring young leaders, and creating opportunities for people who are often overlooked. His work has been recognized by community organizations, the National Latino Peace Officers Association, and local government leaders. In recognition of his impact, both the County of San Diego and the City of Chula Vista proclaimed an official "Ruben Torres Day" honoring his years of service and commitment to the community.

Outside of Love Thy Neighbor, Ruben is an author, speaker, and Creative Director at Legacy International Center in San Diego. He is the author of The Moses Factor: Life and Leadership Lessons for Unlikely Leaders, and regularly speaks at churches, schools, conferences, juvenile halls, prisons, and community events, encouraging people to discover their God-given purpose and use their influence to serve others.

His mission remains the same today as it was when Love Thy Neighbor began with one simple request for a basketball in Tijuana: Love God. Love People. Love Thy Neighbor.

BO HERROZ

Bo Herroz was born and raised in West Modesto. As an Evangelist for over 25 years, Bo has spent thousands of hours in mentoring, training, and developing young people and key leaders in his community and across the country as a keynote speaker at conferences and churches. In Central California Bo ministers in the Stanislaus County Juvenile Hall as well as Soledad State Prison.
